Challenge
In an effort to reach a larger audience and market newly filmed horror movie ‘The Invited’, an interactive website was desired. The website needed to embody the essence of the horror film and speak to the targeted audience, while respectfully placing emphasis on it’s well known cast, the origin story of the film, being filmed in the Sacramento area, and the fact that the film is based on real events.
Solution
Creating an eerie and disturbing graphic that was profoundly inspired by the movie’s protagonist a ominous and disturbingly cursed Ouija board. Paying attention to the users experience, an interactive element was created utilizing the planchette or pointer so that when audience members moved their cursor over it, the planchette will begin to navigate the board on it’s own in a ghostly rigid manner.
